Nguyen Dac Chung is a 23-year-old architecture student in Hanoi who built an exact replica of the Batmobile. He took inspiration from Christopher Nolan’s version of The Dark Knight to build the iconic vehicle.

In an interview, Nguyen revealed that he got an idea to construct this when he was a first-year student. He further added that the car has a bold look because of its all-black body.

While working towards making his idea a reality, he first designed the Batmobile in 3D. Later he actually started building it using parts he purchased from the US and South Korea. He even installed the vehicle control systems, breaks, and lighting himself. His life-sized vehicle measures 3.6 X 2.3 meters. He has already spent $23,000 he funded for the project himself and is still working on the interiors.

Nguyen said in an interview, “This product is a project that I have been cherishing for three years and I have been working on it for more than 10 months.”

A news agency posted footage of his Batmobile online which shows the massive, militant vehicle parked on a regular street. It has butterfly doors that lift open and a steering wheel with the Batman logo in it. The car is definitely one of its kind.

His car only has a replicated shape and uses a motorbike exhaust pipe but he didn’t use a jet engine in the back like in the movie. It can travel up to 62 miles per hour, with a 400 cubic centimeter engine with four cylinders. It comes with a seating capacity of 2 persons.

A team of 6 individuals worked to make Nguyen’s dream a reality. According to Nguyen, all the stages were challenging but collecting the spare parts was the hardest one.

While working on the project, there were many times where he felt like giving up but then he kept thinking of the reason he started to get motivation. He feels elated to see his brainchild and he is proud of it because of all the difficulties he had to overcome to build it.
