Bring More Hue With Customized Power Rangers And Teletubbies PPE

Fiction July, 02, 2025

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is the ultimate need of the hour. But there can be other ways to use PPEs irrespective of their availability in monotone. And this is why Adrian Pe, a Philippines-based nurse used his skills to recreate them in a different fashion. Being a fashion designer, he used his creativity to create customized PPE based on the themes of some popular 90s kids’ shows. Some of them include Power Rangers, Teletubbies, etc.

He did so to not only help these real-life superheroes with PPE but also to provide them a positive vibe and inspire them to live out their childhood superheroes.

Adrian says: “I work a lot in the hospital and the work there is exhausting. And I have always taught myself to look for the beauty in it; to look in the beauty in the faces of the patients and to be grateful. And I will bring this aspect as a Nurse Designer, to see situations with a SILVER LINING.”

Well, Adrian also has the motive to give people the competence to be grateful to our front liners. This way, we can combat COVID-19 all together and get to our usual lives in the earliest way possible.

His fruitful efforts are getting a spotlight on social media platforms too. It has inspired many people to use sewing techniques to create some colorful PPE. As there can be other bright colors on the protective equipment, why shall we stick to the same shallow ones?

Along with a small team, Adrian has prepared and distributed more than 600 suits as of now. Sewers can make about six to eight suits while working at home and four to five when they’re in the hospital. Adrian simply considers all the healthcare workers as modern-day heroes. “In general, all front liners and nurses, they are risking their lives and also their families’ lives as well,” he says.

Materials used to design the suits must be fluid resistant. This includes microfiber, parachute with a silver lining and non-woven fiber that has been used to create the suits. Initially, the staff members at The Medical City Iloilo (TMCI) gave him a handout in making the suits for free. Later on, Adrian handed over the task to seamstresses in order to provide them a payable job for a while.

Moreover, with the help of seamstresses, at least 40-50 suits can be obtained per day. Besides, Adrian has successfully helped all his companions to relive their 90s by helping them commemorate the special shows like Power Rangers. In this invidious unprecedented situation, it is one way to add some color and ecstasy to the lives of many. Kudos to his artwork!!
