15-year-old lad, Austin Eggleston was born with a congenital heart defect. The condition hinders the blood flow throughout the body. He has spent a few months at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, waiting for one donor heart that would suit his body.
The condition has prevented in his bodily growth but his spirits are still very much high. After his name was placed on a heart transplant donor list, he spent four months at the hospital waiting for one piece of information.
During this duration, he was the sweetest and kindest patient on the premises. Pediatric cardiologist, Dr. Phillip Thrush said, “He’s the type of kid that, even when he’s sick, he brings a smile to your face.”

The doctor was a kind hearted person as well and he promised the boy that when he would get a suitable donor, he would give him the news himself. Knowing the fact how big a fan Austin was of Star Wars, he told him that he would be dressed as Chewbacca when he will deliver this news.
That is exactly what happened when they found a donor for him. Thanks to the amazing team of doctors who saved this pure soul. He is still recovering from the surgery and the credit goes to the family who was willing to donate their child’s heart in a time of enigmatic tragedy.
