Chinese Government Restricted Time And Money Spent On Playing Video Games
While there are studies been conducted and already done on how video games affect the youth and how it is a major concern of addiction to the youth. The Chinese government is introducing new curfews and restrictions regarding online gaming. Not only the government will limit the time spent on playing online video games but it will also restrict the amount of money one can spend on it.
Children and adults are so addicted to video games that they put everything secondary to it even having food and going to the washroom. The majority of their time is spent playing games. Playing video games is important and one should play it but everything should be done in a limit. Thus, the parents are happy with these curfews and restrictions.
This is the biggest online curfew and the change introduced in the lives of people of a nation. Until now there were no curfews but bans on the sites which the government thought are not good for the people of the country. Some of the restrictions are such as children under the age of 18 years cannot play video games between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.
During weekdays they can only play for 90 minutes and on weekends and holidays, they can play for 180 minutes. So now they not only have to plan their time to study but effectively manage their time to play video games. Also, this will ensure that children will take breaks from their online gaming marathons and have food and water to survive. Their mothers do not have to hand feed them.
You might think that this can be controlled from the parental control software and the government need not worry about the curfews and controls then. But the Chinese government has taken it to another level. Now the players not only have to register them online in the parental control software but also in the police database to play online video games.
Players have to register their original names in the police database, and the registrations have been made blanket-wide. But everybody wants the freedom to make their own decisions where they live and stay healthy irrespective of the decisions made there is a part of the notice that protects their right to make their own decisions. Apart from “Notice on Preventing Minors from Indulging in Online Games” it protects that right.
The new rules also limit the money that can be spent on playing video games. While the players between the age of 8 years and 16 years can spend about $29 per month, the players under the age of 18 years but more than 16 years can spend $57 per month. Many games trap the kids and lead them into wasting thousand of their money and precious time playing games which have a bad effect on health and life.
