Guess what's coming back! The Underrated Sci-fi shooter
The gaming shooters are seeing their sci-fi culture reviving with the redemption of Evolve. The venture has returned to the gaming space after abandoning it. It has reshaped its stance with peer-to-peer servers. Not just that, it has also surprised its player with matchmaking for Evolve Stage 2. Since then, it has witnessed an increase in players.
Gone are the days when video games were all about purchasing the console. The quality of the games used hinges on the type of console. With the improvements in technology touching new heights, the gaming zone is also welcoming thrilling additions. Not just that, small changes in the gaming features are also helping the gaming behemoths to expand their customer base to stunning levels. Something of that sort happened with a gaming venture named Evolve. It has made a stunning comeback to the gaming zone with the combination of peer-to-peer servers and matchmaking for Evolve Stage 2.
Evolve has lit up the gaming sphere with 4v1 monster-hunting. One can attribute it to 2K’s move to bring the peer-to-peer servers and matchmaking together for Evolve Stage 2. In its first stint, it rose to the fore as a competitor of Turtle Rock Studios' Left 4 Dead. Its introduction marked Studio’s shift from having players facing zombie hordes to taking them on a hunt for a controlled monster. However, it lasted for only two years. The Studio retreated to the zombie drawing board with the introduction of Back 4 Blood.
Evolve also has its story. Earlier, its players could make the best of its fun and thrill by using peer-to-peer servers under the Legacy edition. However, it lost its sheen and got off the list on the Steam storefront. The free-to-play version (Evolve Stage 2) met with a similar fate. That nudged the players to take it as an outcome of the Steam update. Not just that, many Discord admins also put forward the request before 2K to sort the issue out.
To their delight, Evolve has got back with peer-to-peer servers. Adorning its case, Evolve Stage 2 has also got a matchmaking feature. Therefore, it is not a surprise for it to see a stunning jump in the number of players on the roll. The Steam charts are showing an increasing trend in the number of players. The figure has increased from 31 in June to 1,607 after the revamped version. A Twitter user named Patrick Dane (TechRadar Gaming's guides editor) noticed it garnering as many players as Back 4 Blood over the weekend.
One Reddit user also sees the revamped version to make more marks. Taking on that part, they said, “From a company that did everything in their power to bury this game and pretend it never existed, that is a HUGE change in attitude towards the game, and I think it's safe to say that their decision was directly influenced by the realization that there are STILL thousands of people madly in love with this game and still playing it regularly.”
Adding to that, they said, “My point is, I think we should carry this momentum in the hopes that maybe they'll one day relist the game on Steam or, hell, maybe even open lobby queueing back up eventually! Long shot for that last one, I know. But hey, a man can dream can't he? Especially considering yesterday, I never would have dreamed that they'd restore anything with stage 2.”
Gamers are now guessing whether 2K has more in store for them or not. Turtle Rock has wrapped up Tunnels of Terror DLC.
