Nintendo Games Now Need Approval To Be Sold On Amazon

Gaming July, 02, 2025

Amazon has recently contacted all his sellers informing them that from now on No second hand product of Nintendo will be sold on the platform without approval. This condition not only applies to the latest Nintendo-Switch but to all the titles of Nintendo has ever got.

If you have your old cube and you want to earn some money off it your list will have to go though the whole process of Amazon approval or you might have to go somewhere else. Amazon wrote through an email to its sellers: “As part of our ongoing efforts to provide the best possible customer experience, we are implementing approval requirements for Nintendo products.”

That’s not the whole bad news. What’s more is that the email itself came through on 31 October, the deadline and the sellers with their listings already up had very little time to get approval from Amazon, which made them furious.

If anyone still wishes to try a Nintendo product, the person will have to go through a four-step procedure just to get their product to be listed. It is still not clear how long will this approval take on the Amazon side.

This might decrease the listings of Nintendo products on Amazon in the future and hence thereby less traffic on the website. If one plans to sell off his/her Nintendo product it is better off to be listed on eBay or some other website or sold offline than going through a whole lot of trouble just to get approval of putting up the listing.

This change is not a welcoming one. The Nintendo games have a certain reputation of maintain their value as compared to other games of other consoles and the company on very rare occasions reduces the prices of their exclusive games. Usually you could after playing the game sell it off at the same price and buy a different game. A win-win for everyone but this new change has only limited this exchange.

Let’s see how long this change holds up in the market and if other e-commerce website adopts such limitations. You might want to change your budget for games after this shocking news from Amazon.
