Savvy Mum Reveals Genius iPhone Trick That ‘Locks’ Touchscreen While Kids Use It
The Tech-Savy mum shared her genius iPhone trick, which allows anyone to lock the touchscreen without shutting off the display. It’s perfect for when the kids are watching TV – and one doesn’t want them to accidentally close the app or press any buttons. And what is better is, it even works on the iPad.
The feature keeps the screen turned on. However, it deactivates touch-settings completely. This is great for youngsters who often like to poke and prod the screen. It’s also perfect for anyone with a cat and an iPad – now one can let them play with “virtual fish” apps safely. The trick was shared by a tech-savvy mum to Facebook and was quickly shared by thousands.

She wrote that those of the people with iPhone if turn on Guided Access, one can hand their phone to the baby when they’re watching a show and they’ can’t hit any buttons! The setting locks it in that app. And to turn off guided access, one would have to triple click the home button. Which isn’t an easy thing to be done. Her post earned itself over 12,000 likes and has been shared more than 128,000 times.
Now next question is how to actually enable lock iPhone touchscreen, using the Guided Access method. First, one needs to open the Settings app. It’s the one with an icon made up of cogwheels.
Then one needs to scroll down to Accessibility, which is in the section under the General header. Scroll down to the bottom of the Accessibility page and tap into Guide Access. From there, one shall be able to toggle Guided Access on as a feature. One can leave this toggled on safely.
Then whenever someone wants to lock the touchscreen, one can simply triple-click the Home button quickly. If someone has got a newer iPhone without a Home button, triple-click the side button instead.
The hack is quite efficient and helps in making sure that your child doesn’t misuse their screen time and they are actually using it just for the task they have been allowed to.
