A Man Was About To Lose $1.4 Million Gaming Character
Most of us are ever ready to spend a bountiful amount of money on video games. Crazy enough that some great men with “great minds” are willing to give thousands of dollars to “free” mobile games while resisting a $60 retail release. Other thing to be considered is the number of rubes which we contributed to the ongoing deceit by Star Citizen a game that encourages you to hundreds of dollars on fake spaceships on a game which doesn’t even have a virtual existence. And the time when you are willing to five up a kind of dough for a completely digital product that is when you need to be extra cautious before its vanishes out of your league.
As per the South China Morning Post (reported by Kotaku) such a situation which will not let you sleep a wink was on the brink of becoming a bad experience of a lifetime to an unfortunate Chinese gamer. This player spent $1.4 million on his character in Justice Online an MMORPG was on the verge of losing his favourite self-created character due to the heedlessness and malicious attitude of his very friend!
Like many other online social games Justice Online has a mini market complex virtually where players can lend and sell items. Do you remember something similar as this the original Diablo 3? The game comes from NetEase who now have a significant stake in Bungie which is worth the money considering how Destiny works.
But as far as Justice Online is concerned the original player lent his inordinate gaming character to a friend. Seemingly the friend then tried to sell the character back in the gaming market for about $55000 but by mistake marked the price as $552 in lieu. The ultimate result of this casual bargain was another player who crackled up the whole scenario before any other sales could be done.
Thanks to his lucky starts it all turned out to be normal once again. The sale was reversed. The character returned to its original owner and the wary player who knowing nothing about the seller’s intention bought the character has now received around $12000 for damages. Now this hullabaloo will make you all think over again that why China wants to enforce stricter gaming regulations even if we don’t favor it.
