Engineer Designed A True-To-Life Model Of Shuri’s Soundless Black Panther Sneakers
The trace for these sneakers can be found in the movie scene where T’Challa’s relational sister, Shuri gifted him a pair of custom made shoes, ironically named sneakers due to their supernatural features. She compared them to the ones shown in American movie illustration which father used to watch on television. She made them sound absorbent and fully automated requiring little to no manual effort. Jake Laser is also a YouTube content creator who designed multitude of irl versions of pop culture props before this. For example, he created a very sanitary bunch for Spiderman in the past.
Jake goes by the name Jlaservideo. He is devoted and a perfectionist when it comes to building something. In natural course of things, Jake racked up a wide range of materials to bring the ideal version of the model into life. He searched for a lot of materials with the prime goal to secure full sound proofing in the sneakers. He also made them self folding but with a little taste of reality since in the absence of CGI only rolling rubber could provide the automotive effect.
Laser picked between a variety of materials ranging from memory foam, leather, socks, to pink foam but in vain. He finally settled on Aerogel. In words of Laser, Aerogel is unique in its chemical composition and was the only variety that fitted perfectly to his requirement. It is an ultra light material made from gel, where the liquid component of gel is conveniently replaced by gas, without significant alteration the gel composition.
Aerogel has been in practical use as well. It is used in space missions since it is one thousandth of glass density and extremely good at collection of dust particles. Results of his hard work paid off since his finished model was meticulous, sharp and true to its name. The shoes were quiet to the extent of not being able to detect any footfalls whatsoever. Jake demonstrated the validity on soundproofing on a decibel scale, which proved that walking was extremely silent and if any sound was produced it was hardly distinguishable.
A reality check was given to Jake’s model through the real world limitations, which were futile but persistent. For instance, woody surface would’ve created creaking noise no matter what. Regardless of which, the shoes won’t fail from delivering on the expectations of people. Jake Laser’s final product was a striking replica and an effectively functioning of T’Challa’s footwear legacy.
