Games Raised $6.5 Million With Humble Bundle To Fight Against Corona Virus
Moreover, funds are also needed to take care of the patients as well as needy people. And the best thing to notice here is the unity to help each other. Also, several industries are coming up altogether to raise a huge amount of funds. Therefore, Humble also decided to give a handout.
In April, Humble had told that its Humble Conquer COVID-19 Bundle will comprise a conglomeration of games and eBooks with all of its proceeds being donated to several organizations in order to help us fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The upshot we got was way above the expectations of anyone. As of April 24, the funds raised amounted to $6.5 million with 208,527 bundles sold altogether.
The funds will be given to organizations like Direct Relief, International Rescue Committee, Doctors Without Borders, and also Partners in Health. As per Direct Relief, they are very grateful for the efforts Humble has put in for them. The funds raised from the Humble Bundle community will help them to use it for providing immediate help to the health care workers. They can supply more personal protective equipment for doctors and nurses along with the medications for people with cases of coronavirus disease. This way, people who have become the victim of this disease will get enough support.
Also, IRC said in response that their partnership with Humble Bundle will help them work in a better way to support people who have been affected the most.
With 208,527 bundles sold, the Humble community raised $6,565,557 for a few organizations responding to #COVID19. Head over to our blog to learn how @DirectRelief, @RESCUEorg, @MSF_USA, and @PIH are using the funds raised. https://t.co/VYAqLcgZPa pic.twitter.com/0yOUveY8Uq

Lauren Gray, Senior Director Global Corporate Partnerships at International Rescue Committee, informed: “IRC teams are on the ground in over 40 countries working around the clock to help rapidly detect, respond, and prevent further spread of the disease through activities such as training its frontline staff on proper infection prevention and control, distributing essential hygiene and Personal Protection Equipment supplies, and providing lifesaving information to refugees and displaced persons on where to get help.”
Apart from Humble, several companies have also donated money to help us fight against COVID-19. CYBERPUNK 2077’s CD Projekt Red raised about $1 million as donation whereas Sony has promised to provide $100 million to the relief fund.
