If someone tells us that there’s a real genie out there who would make all our wishes come true but he would only appear when we buy an ‘Aladdin’s Lamp’ by squandering $94000 we might want to take a step back from the fantasy world for a while.

However someone decided to jump right into the fictional universe when offered the deal. When Dr. Leeak Khan came across this ‘Aladdin’s Lamp’ he couldn’t predict how the tricksters had planned to deceive him.

He was promised that the genie would grant good fortune and fill his home with wealth. This man spent seven million rupees ($93000) and brought that thing home with a dream to have deep pockets soon.

Turns out the genie that showed up before he bought the lamp was also a member of this group of fraudsters. Oh what a shocker!

On coming back home he tried to call the genie but all futile attempts. That’s when he knew that those swindlers had pulled a fast one on him.

Dr. Khan filed a police report against those tricksters. “Gradually they started telling me about a ‘baba’ (priest) whom they claimed also visited their home. They started brainwashing me and asked me to meet this baba” he admitted.

Amit Rai a senior officer stated “The cheats had struck a deal for much more but the doctor had paid about seven million rupees ($93000).”

“The men have also cheated other families using the same modus operandi. The total amount of money involved runs into several million rupees. The wife of one of these men was also involved in the fraud. She is on the run.”

Police have held two men responsible for this act of duping and they are kept in custody.

We think we have learned a lesson with this story to maintain a healthy distance from fiction. Watch have fun and then travel back to reality. If someone sways a shining deal in front of you straight out of the land of ‘Aladdin’ or any other character you follow don’t fix your eyes on it. It’s better to escape!
