Movies April, 18, 2025

So it was certain that the number of viewers would increase by a huge margin as soon as the lockdown is imposed and the estimation was correct exactly to pinpoint accuracy. All the US streaming platforms have seen an increase in the number of users being hurtled drastically. The same can be seen with the figure of 116.4 billion minutes viewed in the US jumping to 156.1 billion within just a month.

As per the reports of The Hollywood Reporter on March 31 the award-winning sitcom The Office has become the second most watched show with 1.23 billion minutes of streaming coming second only to Mark Wahlberg’s Netflix original film Spenser Confidential which accounts to 1.25 billion minutes. All of the data has been analyzed by the US data information firm Nielson. Nielsen’s head of TV product Scott N. Brown informed: Streaming is a big part of a lot of consumers’ lives right now. We have seen tremendous growth in just how much streaming is going on over the last few weeks as COVID-19 becomes more prevalent across many parts of the country. The number of time viewers are spending streaming more than doubled in the past year alone and it’s nearly a quarter of the total time spent on TV among homes that have the ability to stream.

On the flip side we had got to know that The Office US is going to be removed from Netflix and from there on NBC would be ‘taking the show back’. But you need not worry about it because it won’t happen now. It will be available on Netflix US till January 2021 and in the UK on Amazon Prime.

Also if you want to have a look at the other trending shows then here’s a list for you: Netflix’s On My Block (streamed for 1.14 billion minutes) Love Is Blind (872 million minutes) The Trails of Gabriel Fernandez (572 million minutes) Altered Carbon (425 million minutes) Amazon Prime’s Hunters (612 million minutes).
