Snoopy From Peanuts Just Got Drone Treatment
Snoopy’s first appearance as World War I Flying Ace was in the Peanuts comic strip from October 10, 1965, which saw him climb on top of his dog house (claiming it was a Sop with Camel biplane) to do battle with the Red Baron. Snoopy had a very strong imagination and had imaginary World War scenarios which he made up in his mind. He would fight these wars and all the other characters would participate in Snoopy’s imaginary World War I exploits during the strip’s run, including Woodstock and his bird friends and Snoopy’s siblings, Belle and Spike.
OddityMall is the company that picked up on this fictional character in a real-life drone version, which was first seen on YouTube in 2015. Years later it has been rediscovered and popularized by the Peanut’s advent fans. If anyone misses him flying across deserts with his WWI fighter pilot goggles from a few dozen feet up, now is your chance. Snoopy is so adorable and has an air of “I’m so cool, no Earthly quarrel can touch me. Also, make sure my food bowl is full.”

This amazing flying Ace Snoopy was created by Flyguy Promotions. This is a company that aims to be “the best provider of aerial images worldwide.” Otto Dieffenbach, the company’s Marketing and Events Director has posted numerous videos of the flying characters Flyguy has created, including, among many, many others: Donald Trump, Superman, R2D2, the Green Lantern, Iron Man, and even Guillermo from Jimmy Kimmel. The company along with the regular Snoopy has the ‘Night-fit’ version of the same. The night version is fitted with an array of decorative lights that might even make it visible from Pluto. This version of the Snoopy Drone IRL is the one that you wish would deliver your children all of their gifts on Christmas. No Kidding!!
All those who have been wonderstruck by this creation, FlyGuy has both a good and bad news for you. The good news is that the company still sells the complete set and the bad news is that it is sold at a retail price of $700. The company does say that it provides its customer with all the electronics, hope the drone is also included in it. Plus, flying ace Snoopy is relatively cheap compared to the $1,850 Flying Witch. Though the Flying Witch allows you to customize any person’s face on it. Which honestly is pretty dope.
We never know where innovation will take us. We might have even more of the iconic characters being formed into drones in the near future. We just might see Oswald, Bob- the builder and other fictional characters flying in the sky soon enough.
