Gaming May, 21, 2025

The buzz was going on for quite a long time that Epic Universe would now introduce a Super Nintendo World. However, the news wasn’t confirmed neither by Comcast, nor by Universal until the Philadelphia based cable giant Comcast Corp. executives announced the plan during their earnings call on January 23. The Nintendo world will be the ‘fourth’ park to be a part of Universal Orlando’s resort which already includes Universal Studios Florida, Volcano Bay water park and Islands of Adventure.

During the call, the executives answered, “Nintendo, based on our research, is the biggest potential driver in attendance you can have in terms of intellectual properties”. The talks about opening the Nintendo world goes as far back as 2017, but mostly was kept hushed. It is now first opening this summer at Universal Studios Japan, who recently shared a peek on what can be expected from the theme park.

The execs further added: “It’s up there with Harry Potter, and in some of our parks, HP drives incremental attendance of 2 million people.”The theme park will cost about $544 million, approximately $90 million more than they have spent on the The Wizarding World of Harry Potter- Dragon Alley.

Super Nintendo World, in Orlando will be based on an area of 750 -acres, reportedly double the size from the Orlando resort. It will be a few short kilometres away from the original Universal Studios property.

The following statement was made by the senior vice president and CCO, Thierry Coup:
“You’re not just playing a game, you’re living the adventure. Nintendo’s most iconic locations and experiences will be brought to life, including Mushroom Kingdom, Peach’s Castle, an incredible Mario Kart ride, Bowser’s Castle – and more.”

The Super Nintendo World, which is home to some of the most iconic characters like Super Mario and Pokemon, is set to combine the real world and the virtual world of video games. Visitors would need to wear wristbands, called Power up bands through which they can collect digital coins, the same way Mario collects in the games.

Not just for adventure and fun, the theme park would help the economy by increasing tourism and travel, as it’s expected that the Park will extract millions of video game geeks from all over the world. In addition to this, over 14000 jobs will be generated from this project, which will receive a starting minimum wage of $15 per hour, varying accordingly.
