The Famous ‘Protosaber’ From Star Wars Is Now A Reality

Movies May, 21, 2025

By far away we mean on a totally different planet in a totally different galaxy, a galaxy that as of now is beyond human understanding and creation abilities, but obviously it does not mean that we have to give up or that we can never be super close to our dreams. Those who know Star Wars in and out are acquainted with the fact that the protosaber is the antediluvian predecessor of the lightsaber, and functions using the battery power.

As per the Wookiepedia, the hilt of the weapon is connected to an external power source via a cable because of the limitations in the current power pack technology. The power supply needed for this weapon to function could not be placed on or inside the original arm, thus, the ancient Jedis were pushed to fight along with the battery containers hanging over their shoulders or around their waist, oh yes you imagined that right, the most superior space beings would have to fight with such burdens.

The Hacksmith which is a YouTube channel works on the basis of creating real-life prototypes from fictional movies- this mainly includes video games, comics, etc. The team has now decided to work on the Star Wars series and the first thing that has been launched is the protosaber or something extremely close to it.

And although it doesn’t really function in the same way it is surely commendable in its own standing. Instead of the regular plasma beam used in the standard solid form, the Hacksmith used a twenty-kilowatt power coursing that runs through a think rod of tungsten creating enough energy to run and energize nearly half of the North American houses. This results in a highly heated and super dangerous blade capable of causing some serious threat and damage. Luckily, the creators do not under or overestimate the force’s power but is it a real lightsaber? Well, not really but surely it is badass.

So would you want to build or buy yourself one?
