‘Wolverine’ Hugh Jackman Addressed His Part As ‘The Role Of A Lifetime’.
Hugh Jackman had been a part of X-men since 2000, with the series debuting in the same year with a hit. The makers of the movie celebrate 14 May as the X-Men day, and recently on 3 March, Jackman celebrated the 3rd Anniversary of Logan by posting on Instagram, and captioned it calling his role wolverine a role of a lifetime.
Along with a photo from 2017 movie Logan, he wrote:
“3 years ago, on this day, LOGAN was released. Thankyou for the many (and I really mean MANY) years of sweat, steamed chicken and the role of a lifetime.”
Unfortunately for us though, we may never see the metal-clawed mutant again as he recently confirmed that he will not return to the series. Sadly, Logan, Jackman’s role name which he played through 17 years and 9 movies, was the last series in which we saw Wolverine, as he now thinks it’s time to retire from the role.
Reasoning about the fact, Jackman told that he was inspired to take this step from Jerry Seinfeld, who reasoned to him why he retired from his iconic series ‘Seinfeld’.
He said, “Jerry said, ‘I’ve always believed, you should spend everything creatively because it’s almost Herculean to start up again. You should always have something in the tank.’”
Talking to MTV Jackman said, “When I saw Deadpool, I was like, wow that’s cool. It’s just a matter of time. It’s a bit like you’re at the greatest party you’ve ever been at, you’ve been dancing for an hour and a half, and then you’re just like ‘It’s time, OK. If I stay any longer, it’s gonna get ugly.’ It’s like, it’s time.”
“And on the way home, someone calls you and goes, ‘They just put Michael Jackson on, you gotta get back here. And a little part of you goes ‘I like Michael Jackson,’ but then you just go, I want to go to bed.”
As saddening the statement is, we know where he is coming from. However, what is not saddening is that Jackman is open to the Idea of playing any other role, be it a normal or a superhero role.
