Gamer Gets Struck By Lightning As She Live-Streams Her Skills

Most of the teenagers or young adults are looking forward to becoming a digital gamer these days. These aspirants try hard to gather an army of fans by streaming their skills online. Twitch is one such platform that allows these gamers to go live and interact with their followers from around the globe.

Jamie Bickford, a 22-year-old gamer from Boston, Massachusetts received the biggest shock, oops! We mean the biggest electrifying shock of her life. The young gamer who was busy having fun with her fans during her live stream was struck by a flash of lightning. It fell straight from the sky on the poor girl’s hand. The entire incident was recorded on her streaming video where her painful waning has been taped as the backdrop sound of her session.

Jamie is popularly known as Karma by her followers is a Rocket League champ and a frequent twitch streamer. In a one minute long video, she can be heard commentating on the game before she screamed in pain and went silent. The video that quickly went viral and is still doing the rounds of social media has captured her painful whimpering sounds. Her viewers were left shocked; however, little did they know that their mental blow was incomparable to the electric shock that struck their gaming idol.

The viewers were bewildered and the chat section was filled with the concerned audience asking Jamie if she was fine. The pro gamer soon logged in back to answer her fans about the absurd way of Mother Naturetelling her to take some rest from gaming. The influencer posted about what happened though she herself couldn’t completely process the miss-happening.

Karma told the viewers that her area was facing a major thunderstorm and the house next door was struck by lightning. And though the house luckily didn’t catch fire but a metallic thing between her and the adjacent house conducted the shock all through her hands via the gaming controller. She claimed that her controller received the shock and sparked, leaving her hand burned. In a follow-up tweet, she assured her fans that she took medical consultation and informed her viewers that her controller was in a miserable condition.

Jamie later posted another tweet to update her fans about her and the controller’s condition. She informed everyone that she had iced her hand all night and she just got a few minor burns. She was feeling completely fine by then. However, her controller melted near to connecting point. The gamer then thanked her fans for so much love and prayers.

Another update said that she had to take back her decision of entering into a tournament her fans had been dying to see. She explained that her hand still felt sore and it felt painful to grip the controller. Along with this heartbreaking announcement, she posted a picture of her severely damaged controller.

Well looks like our parents were right all this while; gaming can actually be life-threatening!
